Jacob Gyory
NY-based graphic designer with a focus on iteration to achieve eye-catching expressive designs with personality.
Portfolio
The following is a selection of my recent work. Each of these products began its life as a concept sketch in a notebook, and gradually evolved to the final product you see now in this digital space.

Spellbound Wines Tarot Campaign
InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop
Promotional Halloween campaign, featuring a deck of tarot cards designed to tell fortunes relating to Spellbound’s wine portfolio. In addition to physical material, the reading guide was digitally integrated via the QR code on the cardbacks. I led design, print production and shipping to distribute materials to dozens of liquor stores across the East Coast.

Captain Cosmos vs The Universe
Illustrator/Photoshop/AutoCAD
Designed to be fast-paced & strategic, Captain Cosmos takes inspiration from fighting games. With its character-based gameplay and modular board, it’s different every time! I created the character designs and translated them into card designs. Each comes with standees, boards and other peripherals all crafted to form an immersive experience.

Cheap Jack’s x Slope Vintage
Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign
Cheap Jack’s was a vintage clothing empire in NYC since 1975, and I was brought on to design material for the final liquidation of inventory collab with Slope Vintage. Print & digital ads, and a brand makeover were ordered. To support the liquidation of Cheap Jack’s collection, I created online retail packaging, including custom tissue paper, stickers, promo codes and mailers.

Fox Lane Vineyards
InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop
The Fox Lane brand started simply with a doodle on the train, and developed in collaboration with Monsieur Touton’s Wholesale Department into an original in-house brand. It sold out its entire 1200 case original run in a week. I created everything: tthe art & logo, the label, the bottle, the photography and the marketing materials. The project was to create a label that simultaneously evoked the class of Bordeaux in a modern California vineyard.

Goddess Brew Co Rosé IPA
Illustrator/Photoshop/Hand-drawn
With this Project I strove to create an eye-catching product design, incorporating multiple textures into a color scheme that would look dynamic on the shelf. It Anchors itself in company optics, yet distinguishes itself as an exciting to item to try.

Sunset Tequila
Illustrator/Photoshop
Developed as a cutting-edge new tequila brand for Monsieur Touton, these two variants seek to target the younger demographic of hip drinkers. One is wild and synthwave; designed for partying. The other is soft like a quiet sunset. The back label of the second design is double-sided, allowing full color artwork to be viewed from multiple angles. Proposed as an appeal to a young demographic increasingly interested in soft comforting visual aesthetics.

Brand Flyers
Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign/Studio Photography
A large part of my responsibility at Monsieur Touton entailed creating promotional materials to debut new products. These flyers were designed in collaboration with distributors to be faithful to their parent company’s specific aesthetics.

Self-Storage Branding
Illustrator/Photoshop
Designed branding language and logos Thornwood Self Storage high-end subsidiaries. Maintained a balanace between personality and professionalism to craft identities that were eye-catching, but exuded practical know-how.

Univers Specimen Book
InDesign/Illustrator
I was tasked with designing a specimen book for Univers. This starts with research and application – creating a design that is technically and thematically appropriate for the given typeface.

Carboniferous Infographic
Photoshop/Illustrator
This is an infographic I designed to appear as if it came right out of a natural history book. The illustration and the typography combine with the timeline to highlight the page’s subject matter.

LAFC VICKI for Viatouch Media
Illustrator/Photoshop/Hand-drawn
Producing this design for Viatouch Media was an exercise in branding – creating something that was exciting and energetic for LAFC while still operating within the lines of the overall VICKI aesthetic.
About Me
Born and raised in Westchester, I’ve always been surrounded by the natural beauty of The Hudson and the Metropolitan NYC. This juxtaposition shaped who I am: striving for communication but grounded by nature, and this is reflected in my design process. Every project I work on starts in the sketchbook – only after rigorous iteration does it graduate to a digital space. I’m passionate about bright colors, bold choices, & living, breathing designs – and I’d love to make something with you.
